    Nikon D5200

Looking into the 5200 and I have a question about the video. Some of the reviews are saying the autofocus in the video isn't quiet. Does that mean it will make noise that will be picked up in the video? Sorry if this is in the wrong section or if its a stupid question.
Thanks for your help, I'm new to DSLR.

That's exactly what it means. The built-in mike picks up the mechanical noises of the lens's focus operation. Easily avoided with an external microphone.

How significant is the noise? I'm looking at d5200 vs t4i and this autofocus noise is concerning me. I dont really want to use an externnal mic all time. Should I be looking more at the t4i? Anyone else found this to be deal breaker for the 5200?
Or am I over thinking this?

Are you wanting a good still camera that can shoot video if it has to, or do you want a video camera? My advice: if you want a video camera, get one.

I can't speak for the Canon, but my D7000 has the noise when auto-focusing that you're describing.

Take an SD card to Best Buy, shoot with it, take the card home and check it out.

Yeah I want a good stills camera that can shoot good video. From what I've read thus far, the t4i doesn't make the the autofocus noise when shooting video, but it does auto focus during video.
Good idea bout taking the sd card to Best Buy and trying it out.

    Re: Nikon D5200

Camera Control Pro 2 does not detect D5200 w/ WU-1a wireless adaptor.

Anyone getting Mac Pro & Camera Control Pro 2 (version 2.13.0) to talk to D5200 via the WU-1a???

    • i'm using Apple Time Capsule/Airport based WiFi network
    • iPhone 5 WiFi DOES communicate with D5200/WU-1a via Nikon's WMU app.

    Any pointers greatly appreciated!
