    Digital SLR for Wildlife Photography

Hi People, I am the staff photographer for Photovision Studios Digital Wildlife Galleries,
http://www.photovisionstudios.com/ and I am looking at upgrading from a Canon EOS 10D.

I have used most brands of camera and have been very pleased with the 10D altough I am
tempted with the Minolta Dynax 7D as I used to have a Dynax 7 film camera and I thought it
was excellent, particularly suited for wildlife photography.

The 7D's resolution is not really very high though, is Minolta likely to upgrade? or would it
be best to look at Canon again or Nikon and if so which one do people think is most suited
    to wildlife photography.

Cheers Tim @ Photovision Studios Digital Wildlife Photography Galleries.

If you already have a collection of lenses, why do you want to switch? If speed is an issue, then upgrade to a 1D Mk II or 20D. Switching to a similar camera body in another brand means learning a new set of controls and starting a new lens collection. Hey Paul, jump in here any time. I could be wrong, but wildlife photography is heavily dependent on lens reach and excellent woodcraft (stealth). The camera body's most important feature for wildlife shots is a quiet shutter mechanism and fast reliable autofocus (if you use autofocus that is). I could be wrong, but the 10D seems plenty adequate for wildlife photos, especially with its 1.6 cropping factor. The most logical upgrade in my mind would be the 20D, especially with its 8 Mp sensor. The 1DmkII is much more capable, but pricey and that shutter/mirror slap noise can be heard for miles.
Just my pro Canon two pennies.
