    20D question - picture numbers/ shutter count

Hi, I recently bought a 20D off of eBay and they guy I bought it from said that the shutter count was 521. I just received the camera and the first picture I took was numbered 8107 and they go up from there. Does that necessarily mean that there was 8107 picture taken with the camera? The CF card I am using is brand new. Thanks for any help you can give...

Re: 20D question - picture numbers/ shutter count

Yes there were *at least* that many shutter actuations, there are other ways to even reset the stated shutter actuations in the file numbering, so it could be more. Not neccesarily a bad thing, particularly if you got it for a good price and the sensor is clean. A bit sleazy that he would lie like that and not full disclosure, or maybe theres some missing context, I dunno.

Anyway if you got it for a really good price, I wouldn't worry about it.
