Hey I cannot edit /crop or even rotate images on the Camera when it is connected to windows via the data cable . The SD card isn't locked btw and I can edit the pictures wehen using a seperate card reader .
So whats the poit in the Data Cable if you cannot even edit the photos via windows ?
Is this a common problem now . None of the older cameras used to be problematic llike this

Have you tried moving the files to your computer and then editing them? That would be the right way to do it. Although you can store photos on the camera, that's not really its purpose. I think the best workflow is to shoot, then move them to your computer and save and edit them there. If you have something you really want to store on your memory card, you can always move it back. But I'm sure the card and camera are set up so that it's very difficult to change anything from your computer. If you think about it, editing an image that's on your camera from your computer is a recipe for disaster. There's no backup system in place if you do that.
