a620/a610. Durable, great zoom performance (none of that super slow telephoto stuff that plagues digicams), most functional modes, allowing great control over full range of aperture and/or shutter. 270 degree tilt swivel LCD screen.

Really the only thing that holds it back from general users is its size. puny in my eyes, but some people are used to the whole credit card sized thing... anyway - its got a decent sized grip which makes it ergonomically comfortable and functional for long extended use particularly. but it doesnt fit super well into a pocket.

Yes, I'm agree with Anbesol, Canon A610 or A620 is good camera, this camera will give a wonderful picture even at auto setting. For low light, this camera also good with low noise at high ISO. Recommend for new user or also for move advice user, because the manual setting is complete to get more better picture.
