    Wide angle lens

I bought a Digital concepts 0.5x wide angle lens almost a year ago and never liked the way photos turn out.The center of the photo is clear and in focus, the outer edges are out of focus. Is this normal for a wide angle lens or did I just buy a crappy lens?

I doubt it's a "bad copy". It's probably just incompatible with that camera. I don't know if Sony makes a WA converter for that camera, but WA converters generally don't work as well as Teleconverters. You really need a converter made for that camera, eother by Sony or a major third party like Sigma or Tamron or several others

Well the lens was bought on Ebay.It was advertised as fitting the Sony DSC-H1,H2,H5.Sony does make a wa lens but I guess cheaper is not always better.

It's probably a crappy lens. How much did you pay for it? I've never heard of that manufacturer. If you have a Sony, it would be best to stick with the Sony converter lenses. I am sure they will work much better.

As most of us have learned the hard way, you usually get what you pay for.
