Weird me too. The bought a D100, now a D70 as a second body.

I would say get the D70 outfit because the lens you can get with it is pretty good and it's an 18-70. It's a gret lens. If cost is an issue for the lens, you can get a Tamron or a Sigma wide to go with it if you really want the wide angle.

Otherwise you can buy the body only. Depending on the size of your 28-200 (if it's Nikon or Tamron or whatever), you'll be pretty close to the 8700 using your 28-200 with the D70 (if you don't want to buy a lens, your 28-200 is a 35mm equivalent 42-300). The 8700 looks about the size of an SLR with a lens on it- if I recall right from glancing at it last time I was at the camera store. The lens on the 8700 though looks pretty fast for a digital with that zoom range though.

I love my D70. I really think you'd be happy with either. If you keep your D70 stored with a lens on it, you probably won't miss any shots. I've never used the 8700 though, but I love my DSLR's.
