What did he do wrong? Settings question

Hello!

My dad has sent me some digital photos, but it seems he has inadvertently changed settings. I believe his camera is the sony dscp200.

The first picture is:

Width = 6.827 inch
Height = 5.12 inch
Resolution = 300 pixels/inch

The second photo: (Problem!!)
Width = 28.44 inch
Height = 21.333 inch
Resolution = 72 pixels/inch

I can't get to the camera to see what he has been doing.

Any suggestions?

Completely irrelevent.

The camera has a certain number of pixels that doesn't change. As you see, spread them thickly and you get a smaller size than if you spread them lightly. For posting on the web, anything more than 96 ppi is wasted. For prints, 300 ppi is ideal but 250 ppi does a good job as well. Changing between ppi's does nothing to alter the image.

Do you know then, what would have been selected to have "spread them them lightly"? ie. What did he do?
