Trouble transferring HD video from Lumix TZ7 to MacBook

Hi,

This is my first post, so be gentle! I have a new Panasonic Lumix TZ7 (actually a DMC-ZS3, but sold here in Australia as a TZ7) I have been playing with the video on the camera, in AVCHD Lite, and have been unable to upload the files to my Intel MacBook.

I have tried the supplied ArcSoft MediaImpression, but it fails to see any video files. Also, iPhoto cannot recognise the HD files.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

I'm sorry, but the DMC-ZS3 is not even on iMovie's list of compatible cameras.

I suggest you convert mts to mov.I'm using Pavtube to convert the HD video taken from Sony Handycam. I've had good results converting the .mts files to .mov, with the settings h.264, 1200, 1280*720, 25fps, aac.

if you are able, try another program like adobe premier (elements or pro) or final cut, or possibly even the latest versions of imovie. they should support the AVCHD standard.

you can convert the hd video to .mov format, then you can transfer it to your macbook and imovie to edit it.
