The Time Is Here! What To Choose!?

    Hey PR Folk

I Am In A Bit Of A Crush Here...

If You All Had To Choose Between The Fuji FinePix S9000 Megazoom And The Sony R1, What Would You Go With!?

Sorry Roxy never used either camera. What I can tell you is I own an older Fuji Finepix S602Z that I love. I got it about a year before I bought my first DSLR and it sold me on digital. Great color and the metering system was all I could ask for. It is very versatile and does everything I ask of it. It is still the camera that I grab when I don't want the hassle of the DSLR like on family outings. And it's simple enough that I can send it with my wife or one of the kids and they come back with great images without pulling their hair out.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I haven't used the Fuji, but I have tried the Sony and I loved it. If I'm not mistaken it also had image stabiliaztion-don't quote me though. Go with whatever one feels good in your hands and inspires you to take good pictures.

    Thanks Guys.

IHave Seen No Sample Images From The Fuji, But The R1 Makes Some Beautiful Pictures. There Is A Huge Difference In Price [$500], But That Does Not Matter Much,

The Megazoom Seems Very Interesting To Me...Gotta Check If I Can Buy Other Lenses!

I Just May Go With The Fuji...But Darnable If That Sony Does Not Catch My Heart Everytime I Look At It! LOL

Well the only lens you will be able to buy for any superzoom are conversion lenses which will maginfy more, or demagnify for wide angles. These lenses generally degrade image quality a great deal, but some here on the forums have some luck with them. If you want interchangable lenses you are going to have to go to a DSLR. They caom in all kinds of price ranges, from 500 to well above that.

Congratulations on the new camera, Roxy! Looking forward to more and better photos from you. I like to encourage people to improve through technique. But there is a point where a better camera makes a difference. I know you'll benefit from it.

Please post a review for your camera once you feel you've gotten to know it well enough. Here's a link to that review page:
