    Cool Suggestions please.

okay so I am looking to get a new compact P&S cam. I take alot of indoor photos with lousy lighting. I also take alot of photos at night up on the ski mountain I work at. I loved the Fuji film finepix F20se I had before it took amazing shots inside at clubs and what not and great shots in the dark on the mountain. I have been looking at the fuji f30 f31 f40 and f50 or maybe even another f20 but would like to up grade. if anyone has any input or suggestions it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks prior to your replies.

    Re: Suggestions please.

If you liked the Fuji F... series camera, I think you can't go wrong buying another one. Reviews did say that the F40fd had more noise than the previous model. But I found that cameras that were introduced in the past year made a huge leap in terms of image quality. And Fujifilm also recently announced the 12-megapixel FinePix F100fd. I haven't used a Fujifilm camera since the F30fd, so I can't vouch for the image quality of more recent cameras. But it's nice to stick with something you know. Not having to learn a completely new camera is worth a lot.

Ok, now to play devil's advocate a little

I don't know how serious you are about your photography, what you think equals good quality, or what your budget is. But it might not be a bad idea for you to consider a digital SLR. It will definitely deliver the best possible quality - far better than any point-and-shoot camera you can buy. But it will be harder to carry and it will cost a lot more. I would be irresponsible not to mention it, though.
