I'm looking at the 18-50 and 55-200 DC lenses from Sigma. Though not high-end lenses from the looks of them (3.5-5.6 and 4-5.6, respectively), I'd like to know about the quality of them and any experiences you guys have had with them. A search in the Reviews turned up blank. Are the focal lengths going to be as designated when attached to a Canon D30? Even the new EF-S 18-55 for the digital Rebel was designed exclusively for it and yet will only be a 28-70 or so in terms of its real-world field of view.
Are they metal or plastic mounts? Any noticeable aberration or distortion? How about sharpness and contrast? These will be used for paid assignments when my 28-70/2.8 won't fit the subject due to the 1.6x factor. I also like the DC lenses light weight and very, very compact size. Any pros or cons, post 'em here please.
Thanks!
