Sigma EF 500 ST NA Flash for Nikon CoolPix

I purchased a Sigma EF500 ST iTTL NA Flash for my Nikon CoolPix 8800. All the zoom and trigger functions worked but not the TTL control. All the pictures were over-exposed. Any suggestion?

Hi John,

I don't have the CoolPix, but I do have the D70. I tried the EF500 flash (i-ttl version) with the D70 and was never happy with it. Flash exposure was frustratingly inconsistent. I had to over or under compensate for each shot -- resulting in missed oppurtunites.

I did get the SB800, and it's a world of difference. But, I still need to adjust flash depending on whether I'm bouncing, diffusing, or straight on flash.
