should I buy this cheap camera?

The model I'm looking at is the Kodak EasyShare C530. I've found a deal for it that only costs $83. To me, that is really cheap for a 5MP camera. Is the camera any good?

Personally I feel that Kodak and HP make the worst (of the major brands) compact digital camera's. I think they have shoddy construction of brittle plastic and most of them have very limited functionality.

I would say no, this camera isn't that great. It only has 4x digital zoom (no optical), and it feels like a toy. This is a camera I would buy for a small child that wanted a digital camera. You are going to spend $83 now, and instantly want something better, so why not save just a little longer and get a better camera. You can get a Canon A530 for $149 sometimes less, and it is leaps and bounds a better camera than the Kodak.
