Shifted picture/line through picture

Hello,

First post here. Did a search and couldn't find much. I have a Nikon Coolpix S630 compact digital which I "kind of" like as a small digital point and shoot, but I have had a couple pictures with what I am calling a "shift". It is bugging me as it happens on shots that I otherwise would like.

Not sure if this is a result of the anti vibration, digital zoom, lighting, camera setting or if it is a defect.

Slightly corrupted file.
See on the left in the bottom half there is a small band a few pixels wide?
I've seen this when recovering files from a damaged card.
Also on one camera where my wife kept turning it off after taking a photo, but didn't wait for it to finish writing first.

I would:
Try a different card.
Be careful about switching off the camera.
Be wary of buying memory cards on the internet, there are fakes out there.

Well I hope they can cooperate in helping get it sorted.
Trying the camera with different memory cards is the first step, I think.
