    SD Memory speed

Hi ... new member here ... I am a casual user and have a few of cameras ... a canon eos slr, Pentax optio s40, kodak easy share and am just looking at a ixus 50 ... anyway to the question ... whilst speed isn't terribly important to me (a casual snapper) I wouldn't want to ignore it and apart from the camera itself it seems that SD cards can have an effect as some are faster than others. I found a really cheap 1Gb card from an online retailer and asked them the question and they replied that ... "It's Standard" ... not a lot of help. maybe somebody has a better answer ... thanks for your time ... Roger

The speed depends more on the camera than the card with P&S cameras. For P&S digital, speed really doesn't matter as the camera's writing speed is too slow anyway. With DSLRs, it can make a difference.
