    SanDisk Ultra II

    Hi,
I just purchased a SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB compact flash card, which boasts a faster read and write speed. I bought it, thinking from the moment I push the button to capture a picture to the moment i am able to take the next picture would be reduced compared to the regular type one card that came with the camera. Thus far i am not impressed, the time seems to be about the same. What is the advantage to this ultra II card?

    Thanks

    Patrick

What type camera are you using with your new card? You won't see much of a difference with a digital point and shoot. If it's a digital SLR, you should notice some difference (assuming you were using an older, slower card to begin with.)

There is good information here http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/mul...e.asp?cid=6007 for Compact Flash cards.

Rob Galbraith's site is probably the best place to find out about read/write times for a camera/card combination. Generally, the newer camera, the faster the times. Older cameras, especially P&S digitals, really don't benefit from it. I've used 24x, 40x and 80x Lexar cards in my 3-4 year old Coolpix 5000 and don't see any real difference between them.
