i need to know what cameras are similar to the olympus c5050 but when looking at the facts of the c5050 and cameras similar to it the c5050 is a better camera?
so which cameras are similar but not as good as the c5050?

ok... (this is need of help for an assignment)
i need to research the olympus c5050 and compare it to other cameras in its range which are similar to it by other makes however the cameras i compare with it the conclusion has to be that the c5050 is the better one. Below are some facts of the c5050, what other cameras are like the c5050 but not as good.
(3x zoom lens f1.8-2.6
5.0 million pixels
Tilting LCD monitor
Versatile manual and automatic options
Compatible with xD Picture Card,SmartMedia Card and CompactFlash Card)

I compared it to Canon PowerShot G6 and Nikon Coolpix 8400 however when looking at fatcs and statistics it didnt show the c5050 was better.

That's the part I don't get. I understand it's for an assignment, but still...

If I was a consumer in the market for a camera for whatever the price of a C5050 is, then I'd look at other cameras within, say 10% of that price. Newer cameras come out so often from every manufacturer that something for the same price that's been on the market for less time will probably be better in some way. So - something that's been out longer than the C5050 might be a good place to start although this comparison would probably be less obvious by looking at specs - you'd have to look at prints and make a personal judgement based on that. I know they list the camera's release date on dpreview.

Nothing personal, but you've asked a lot of vague questions here about this assignment you're working on. A lot of us, myself included, have tried to get you started down the path so to speak. With the replies you have here and a little time, you'll get what you need. I think Michael's reply about getting their annual report to learn more about the company is an excellent idea. It might take a few phone calls to do it, but that's life.

What's the assignment for?

You can google 'camera comparison' and see that several sites have this kind of thing set up. There are many camera review sites out there as well as the review section here.

go to www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympusc5050z/ and look at what other cameras they've compared it to
