    problem with sony dsc-w5

I bought my digital camera a week and a half ago and it worked perfectly until yesterday. When I put my camera on the Auto Adjustment Mode and I try to take a picture/press the shutter button halway down, it sometimes changes to another mode and then sometimes returns to the previous one for no reason. I know I didn't even touch the mode dial, so it's not the problem! Furthermore, when I put it on the Playback/Edit mode, it sometimes stays on the Auto Adjustment Mode as if I hadn't changed it. There's also another problem, when I zoom at something, I can't take a picture 50% of the time. I press the shutter button halfway down and when everything's okay, I press it fully down, but it doesn't take a picture.

I don't remember having any of these problems before yesterday and I haven't done anything to my camera so that it could be weird like that. If someone got this problem, please tell me what I should do. If you want more information or if I was not clear enough, just tell me. Mt first language is not English, so that might be why. Thanks for helping me.

    Warranty

Sounds like you got a bad one. It happens. Since you just got it, maybe you can get the dealer to exchange it for you. That will be easier than going through warranty.

The one thing to try before you send it in is removing the battery and then replacing it. Sometimes mystery electronic problems are solved by doing that.

Sorry. It's a drag to be the unlucky one. But everyone gets a turn...
