Well, would it be worth repairing?

I accidently knocked over my D70 with the Nikon 18-70 lens on it onto a concrete floor. Camera was fine, lens wouldn't focus and was coming apart at the lens barrel. I sent it in, and Nikon wanted (I think) $180 to fix it. I could buy the lens new for $200 (Prices may be off, but you get the idea).

But it could be a nice excuse to get a new lens

I think a new lens is on the horizon also. Once I factor in freeway tolls to drive to the nearest
Sigma retailer I'm looking at $90-$100 out of pocket just for them to tell me there's no hope....
