Plastic underwater Housing - Ewa-Marine underwater Housing

Did any of you use Ewa-Marine underwater Housing. It is plastic but considerably cheaper than the Ikelite housings....

    I don't want to dive deep...Max 20-30 feet (6-9 meters)...
There is a link to it:

    http://www.amazon.com/Ewa-Marine-U-B...4763627&sr=8-7

Have you ever used it? Is it worth buying it?

    Thanks,
    Otto

I have used one of those and it worked fine. I only used it on the surface of a pond, though. Ewa-Marine has been around a long time and has a good reputation so I expect they're safe. But with any underwater product, be aware that any kind of failure means disaster. Any time you take a camera underwater you're taking a big risk - even with the best equipment.

Re: Plastic underwater Housing - Ewa-Marine underwater Housing

I've used on for my old EOS 10D for about 5 years now and curretly use it with my new EOS 450D. The cool thing is, The same U-AXP goes for most consumer DSLRs. So you don't need a new housing when you buy a new boddy!

That really saved me $$$ :wink5:

I've been down to 100ft with it. No real problem.

I found them via their webpage. It has lots of infos: http://www.ewa-marine.com

And there's a Flickr group that contains lots of photos made with their housings: http://www.flickr.com/groups/ewa-marine
