Photography magazines

I am looking to subscribe to a magazine that is monthly at least and is distributed in the US. Many of the magazines I've seen are UK based. I am looking for magazines that have tips and tutorials with pictures and is more helpful with technique rather than advertising new cameras.

Maybe helpful, I shoot with a D700. Am open to a Nikon geared magazine as well.

Take a look at American Photo and I also subscribe to Shutterbug.

i don't have any subscriptions, but i sometimes buy issues of Popular Photography and Shutterbug.

i find that shutterbug usually has more info on new products and product reviews (it has info or more products, but seems to be less in depth on each one). popular photography usually has 2 or 3 reviews for major things (SLRs, lenses, etc.) per month (along with story articles and other quick reviews). i also prefer the layout of popular photography much more than shutterbug. popular photography has a better way of testing and rating cameras.

although both of these magazines should have more in terms of tips and techniques, i think that popular photography usually has more space dedicated to this area.

and i have flipped through other magazines but never have ended up buying any of them.
