Pantex S40 Vs Canon Powershot S500

I'm looking for a small camera with nice quialty images and fast reaction speed , the camera i have right now is soo slow.
so i was wondering :
1.which one of the two would you recommand ?
2. Is there anyother model i should look into ?
3. Any good/ Bad experice with the two above ?
4. Any other information ...
