Panasonic DMC-LX2 not recognized by iPhoto

A good friend is having difficulty getting his older G5 desktop (PowerMac) to recognize the subject digital camera. He cannot download pictures since it does not come up in the application. Has anyone used this camera with a Mac successfully? Is there some driver or something else needed to insure the Mac "sees" the camera?

    Thanks,
    Paul

A card reader usually solves all sorts of problems. On a Windows machine, the card reader is seen as a disk drive. I assume that the same thing occurs on a Mac.

I just finished an editorial review of the Panasonic Lumix LX2. Since I generally just review camera features and performance, I never connect the camera to the computer. I just use a card reader. And as Michael says, that ensures you don't have any software or hardward compatibility issues. A USB 2.0 card reader will cost you about $20 and it should work fine with a G5.

Please encourage your friend to post a review for his camera once he gets to know it. We need some user reviews for the Panasonic LX2.

    Hope that helps!

I would guess he's just as likely to have the same problem with a PC.
