panasonic dmc lc-50 or nikon 3100 ???

i am about to buy a camera, but someone has to help me! i heard that nikon just "eats" batteries .... but whata bout panasonic? any better?

i did al of those comparisons, read a lot of reviews, but still cant decide, what if i choose wrong??? the main thing is the battery life andd possible sd memory .... (cuz i already have one card at home!!) ... the rest is almost the same .... just tell me which one is better for you ... i heard nikon eats betteries, is it right???
