My girlfriend recently bought a Canon Power Shot AS90is 8 MGpixel.

She had the camera on the "night shot option" and took these photos.

She's trying to tell me that the strange lights and orbs on the shot (which could not be seen by the naked eye) are "indenties". She fancy's the thought of having ghosts around her but I have argued to no avail that it's just the light from streetlamps or something playing tricks on the camera.

I'm know expert but I would like some kind of expert opinion on what these are. Has anyone here had their pictures come out like these?

You can't argue with someone who believes.
A friend of mine believed that lasers upset the spirit world and we shouldn't use CD/DVD players, or laser levels. She had no objection to a bubble spirit level

The large white spots are water/dust spots on the lens. Illuminated by the reflected flash light off the white chairs.

The yellow streaks in 2 and 3 are dim out of focus lights, In image 5 you can see them sharply because the camera was held steady. You can even see the street lamp itself in image 4.

If we can assume the chairs haven't moved in between the shots, then overlaying the images (you may need to resize them) will show the yellow streaks correspond with the lights.

Of course to someone who wants to believe these are all "identities" may not listen to reason and will continue to argue we're wrong.

Those are definitely pollen, dust, and street lights.
The reason you're getting the streak, as SW eluded to, is because the camera is being moved when the picture is being taken.

Notice on picture #3, the chair on the right has a bit of a ghost image next to it (pun intended). That's from the camera shake.

Picture #5 you can just make out the light poles.

are you the girlfriend? your tone has changed.


A friend of mine is totally into the paranormal. He showed me a picture of a theatre with those 'orbs' all over. He's certain they're ghosts too. Unfortunately, I know they're not ghosts, but dust on the lens.

I do, however, believe in the ghost in the theatre. Reports have been coming in for years of people just standing in the theatre, when suddenly a whiff of old-lady perfume goes floating by. She is jealous of her theatre manager, and one day when I was standing right under the loading dock door talking to him, the chain suddenly started clinking just a little bit and I looked up, and the door was inching down towards me. There was nobody anywhere near the chain, no wind, and nobody had disturbed the door in weeks. I think she wanted me out of her theatre. When I looked up at the door, it stopped.

Well that last photo, the light is definitely a street light. But the first 3 photo the light is strange, it looks like a small lightning or something, I am sure when you take this photo this is no lightning that time. Well, it might be something or you're right just glare from the street light.
