Olympus xD picture card; 1GB Card Error.

Hi, for Christmas my boyfriend got me this deal on Amazon where he bought a charger, extra battery, and a 1GB new memory card for my Olympus Camedia C-50 Zoom. I have the exact same memory card in the camera right now, only it's 128MB.

Anyway, I went to go put the new memory card in and when I go to take pictures or turn it on, it goes to "Card Setup" My opinions are to Power Off or Format. I try to format and erase everything, and after it's done it says "Card Error." I've even pressed "no" on formatting it and it goes to card error.

If anyone can help, it would be great. =)

Have you upgraded the firmware in your C-50? If it has not been done, here is the Olympus web site link:

I got to thinking about some of the Olympus cameras I have and have had and they do have some quirks as to what media they support. Olympus continued to upgrade some of their storage media, the xD cards, after the cameras were first produced.
