I'm new to this site, just as I'm also new to digital photography. I still love my Canon Elan 7, and will continue to shoot with it for many reasons. However, I'm want the simplicity of a small pocket able digital for convenience. I began my quest for that special new camera by checking out the Photo magazines: Popular Photography, American Photography and others, and then making the rounds at the various camera outlets. However, I soon discovered this purchase, wouldn't be easy. I visited cnet review on line thinking they would "point" me in the right direction; I should have listen to them and taken their advice about not being in favor of LCD screens only. They seemed to look down on cameras with out an optical camera, and now I too, know why. I purchased a Olympus Stylus 750 ultra compact camera with a 5x optical zoom with both a digital and mechanical image stabilizer. According to all the reviews of this camera, was the fact that it took great low light pictures without the need for flash. Also liked the fact that I could shoot some interesting night shots in the rain, as it is an all weather camera. What I didn't count on is the troubling fact, that you simply can not see anything in the LCD screen in bright day light. Here's where "cnet" reviewers were correct about not having a optical view finder. I find it strange that a company like Olympus would sell a product which is unusable when shooting out side on a nice sunny day. P.S. UPS came to my house and it's on it's way back home.
