    Olympus Digital Camera

    Hello,
I just found this forum, hope I am in the right place to ask this question. I have just bought an FE-230 Olympus Digital Camera. The Basic Manual that came with it, is VERY Basic. (They mention an Advanced Manual, but it wasn't included). My first question is this: Is there any way to convert an .AVI picture to a .jpg? This camera apparently can take movies, and the little dial accidentally got turned to that. I took some important pictures today and wanted to enlarge them and send them on, but found they are, as I said, .AVI video clips. Any help will be appreciated! And, if I'm in the right place, then I'm sure I'll have other questions as I go along. Thanks!

I think you can do this with Olympus Master 2. It is a free download from Olympus.. I am sure there are other software that will do it too. Yes, It can be done. I think I also done this once with some software called Blaze and I also think Windows Movie Maker will do it. Check the link for Olympus Master 2. https://emporium.olympus.com/studioM...pusMaster.aspx

I've never heard of a utility that simply extracts stills from movies. You will almost certainly need to use video editing software. If you have something like Windows Movie Maker, you can open the .avi file, and save selected frames, I believe. That is, you pause the video, and capture the frame. Of course, the video captured by a digital camera is usually much lower resolution than still photos, so it may not turn out as you would like.
