Nikon S560

Wondering if anyone has ever opened up a lens of a compact camera before like my Nikon S560. It has a bit of dirt inside the lens unit, the dirt is on the inside of the glass. I'm wondering if its possible to open the lens unit and clean the glass without disturbing the lens it self

nope, removing the lens assembly from the camera is hard enough, but taking apart the elements is near enough to impossible. They are aligned to very tiny tracks. Unless you have the tools and know-how to handle it, its not something a general DIY tool-man can handle, it requires a very specialized knowledge and equipment. However, even the people who do have that knowledge and equipment would consider it wasted effort to do it on a $100 point and shoot.

Does the dirt effect the image?
