Hello everyone! I am hoping some of the friendly people here can help me out.
I am debating on a high end point and shoot - I've already tried DSLR's and they just weren't for me (too bulky, lenses too costly, etc) so I would like to go with a good point and shoot.
I am debating the Nikon Coolpix P6000 or the Panasonic Lumix LX3. Here are the pros and cons on each camera to me:
Nikon P6000
Pros: Time lapse mode, integrated GPS, RAW support, IR Remote support.
Cons: No HD video recording, only 640x480.
Lumix LX3:
Pros: Great reviews from everyone I have heard, 1280x720 Video (Choppy video, though), RAW support.
Cons: Not at many features as the Nikon, No remote support, time lapse, etc.
My only concern with the LX3 is that Panasonic is coming out with new cameras in April (according to their site) and I don't want to get an LX3 now if it is being replaced. I am already finding it starting to be sold out on various sites, Buy.com, Amazon.com, etc. I am looking at the DMC-ZS3 link which is being released in April, and it supports 720P 60 FPS H.264 video, not the choppy video like the LX3.
So what are the suggestions here? I love the P6000's features and integrated GPS... But at the same time everyone seems to like the LX3... But I don't want to get the LX3 if there is a model that will replace it right across the corner.
Any suggestions are welcome!
