Nikon 8400-Need input

My wife and I are seriously considering the Nikon 8400 camera. Wolf has them for $399.99. Since we are poor folks, it seems like a great camera for the money. We are both 35MM SLR users and have never done digital. Any input from owners of the 8400 would be greatly appreciated. We plan on purchasing the camera in about 2 weeks.
