Hi,
I am new here and wondered if I could get some opinions on which is the best point and shoot for me.
I normally shoot with a film slr nikon n80 and get great pics. I want a digital point and shoot that i can carry in my purse so I don't miss any great pics of my kids doing something cute. I want as good a quality of pictures as possible from a dig. point and shoot.
I have played with the nikon 7900 I really like the grip and how it feels in your hand. Some of my pics were a little out of focus, which I am not sure was me or the camera and a couple that weren't that sharp again not sure if that is me or the camera. I know taking digital is a little slower than my slr. The price is great at 307 at buydig.
As far as the canon 500/550. It is a lot more expensive at 499 and I don't like it in my hand as much, but from what I read it might have the best quality pics, but I haven't played with it so don't know first hand.I have also heard that there are issues with the lcd screen breaking and it not being covered by a warranty. 500$ is a lot of money to have a camera break and be useless after that. I feel like everywhere you read reviews you can basicly talk yourself into one and then the other over and over again.
Nikon also just came out with some new ones. I am open to any opinions on which camera I should consider getting. I am open to spending the higher price if it is worth it and significantly better and good quality without breaking.
Most important to me is the best quality pic and mainly don't want to miss a picture by finding out after it is developed that it didn't turn out. I want a relatively small camera that is easy to use. I do like how the nikon feels and with the grip allows you to shoot one handed if needed. , but if it isn't good quality then I won't be happy. NOt sure and confused. Thanks
