Newbie seeks comparison Nikon Coolpix 995 to Current Nikon Model.

Good day. I've been advised that (for what I want to do) the older 995 is the answer.
Trouble is trying to find one out there. To the question: Which _current_ Nikon in the 3-4 pixel range takes nice sharp macros under normal/non-pro light conditions.
I'm wanting a single-purpose digicam, to take macros of fishing flies.
Or do none of the current models hold a candle (pun intended) to the older 995.

I'm not sure how the new cameras compare with the 990 series for macro. But I do know that the older Nikon compact digital cameras were renowed for their macro capabilities. I don't think you could go wrong if you can find one in good shape.

I know of someone else who might be able to give you a more detailed answer. Let me see if I can get him to share some of his experience with the 995.
