A newbie in need of some help....

I see.... thank you very much for your insight. It's sad but 70 bucks is as much as I can spend on a camera at the moment Not really sure if I want to pick it up now.... but even if I do now I know what to expect from it. So thanks again.

Yes, a couple of real potential problems with this one.

The first one is that there is no optical zoom, only digital zoom. "Digital Zoom 4X". What this will do is when you zoom this camera, you start shredding megapixels. As it is a 3.0 mega pixel camera, when you zoom it by 4X, you end up with only 0.8 (approx) megapixels. You need 2.0 megapixels minimum for 4x6 prints so with this camera, if you use the zoom, the resulting images will not be good enough for quality prints.

Also, the 6.5 foot range flash is next to useless as well. If you want to use flash, you have to get in close and I bet the red eye monster will be in every person shot you take.

And finally, the sensor CMOS is 2048 x 1536 pixels, yet it lists a possible "Resolution 2848x2136" which is equivilant to 6 mega pixels. Sounds like marketing blurb there.

Still, it is a 60 buck camera. For the price it is worth it. But I really have to suggest spending a little bit more. You should be able to pick up something decent for 200 bucks. That isn't that much of an ask surely.

Well, I might have been a bit harsh in what I said earlier. After all, My very first camera was a p&s film camera that had no zoom facility at all and I took many a shot with that camera, many memories with those photo's.
It is just that im so used to camera's with zooms, I almost forgot that you can do with out one.
Just get used to moving back and forth to get the right composition. Just understand the camera's limitations and work with them. It can work. As I said before, it is a lot of camera for 60 bucks.
