My hub asked me to get him a camera that he will be using for taking pics of the insides (& outsides) of people's homes (for selling purposes) which will only be used on the internet and to make virtual tours. My old finepix (2650) won't do as I cannot seem to photograph my livingroom which has a lot of windows and dark furniture without it making the room look very dark, even with the blinds drawn.
He just wants something with a big screen that's fast. Size or video capability is not an issue. I received three suggestions: Kodak z650, Nikon Coolpix S4, and a Canon 610. The first two are both 6ish mp 10x optical zoom. Seems overkill for the application but they seem to be well priced cameras. The Canon 610's screen doesn't seem big enough. Perhaps there's a better Canon model??
I was told that kodaks do something to enhance the quality of flesh tones for people pics at the expense of distorting colours like red?? I was also told that Canon & Nikon are still the best camera companies but Canons are more user friendly and Nikon get even less so as you moved up in price, but as my hub pointed out he probably won't be using 90% of the applications anyway. I was also told the bigger the lense, the more light available to help with the poor lighting inside houses.
