need a camera or camcorder on a tight budget - any recommendations?

hi, im looking to buy a camera or camcorder to take pictures and videos when i'm out and about in the summer and at parties etc to put photos and video up on myspace and youtube and i don't really know what to look for.

    These are my requirements:

    - about 4MP - obviously more is fine
    - quick shutter delay - i hate it when you push the button and then someone has moved by the time it takes the photo
    - as small and light as possible - easily pocket sized
    - able to shoot video to an ok quality ie better than the best mobile phone
    - £50 budget or as cheap as possible

I will probably look to get one second hand from ebay to get something decent for my budget, as long as it all works i dont mind.

My mum has a Canon digital ixus 500 - i'd like the video quality to be equal but the picture quality doesnt have to be as good as i dont use the highest settings to make the pictures quicker to put on the internet - i usually keep my pictures to 500KB - 1MB in .jpg format

Any recommendation would much much appreciated, thanks

We were looking for a camera that she could handle with cerebral palsy and bad shoulder-arthritis. We purchased this CMOS point and shoot at Canadian Tire for $130 Canadian.

It's a movie camera (records on your secure memory card) and a still camera (they claim 6.1 megapixels). It has a rotary LCD screen. Zone focussed, f3.0 lens. My wife is slowly getting the hang of it but managed to take a couple of pictures. The shutter button is small and placed poorly for her hands. It has a default to movie camera. You have to press a mode button to get the still camera setting.

All in all, I think it's a bargain.
