    Memory case

    Hey everyone
I've got three memory cards and a card reader but will probably pick up a few more cards.
I was wondering what all of you use to store your memory. (besides your brain )
What do you guys recommend for storage?

    Thanks for any input.

    Think Tank Photo

That's a great question. I started out with a Tamrac memory wallet, which I still think is pretty nice. It's kinda bulky, though. For the past couple of years I've been using and loving Think Tank Photo's Pocket Rocket. It's really compact, holds a bunch of cards, has a window for your business card and it even has a lanyard to ensure you don't lose it.

A lot of camera bags now have built-in memory card holders. But if you're like me, you don't always have your backpack or case with you. When I'm working I throw my backpack on the ground and sometimes end up a good distance from it. So I like to have my memory cards (and batteries) in my pocket. The Think Tank Photo Pocket Rocket is small enough to fit in my jeans pocket without a problem. And I can carry plenty of cards in it.

The Pocket Rocket isn't listed in our reviews right now. But I did include it in our Cheap Gifts For Photographers Holiday Guide: http://reviews.photographyreview.com...otographers/6/

    Re: Memory case

    I just use my pockets.
Left zip pocket is unused cards.
Right zip pocket is used cards.

Cards are never in unzipped pockets
I usually move cards from camera to Hyperdrive for backup, to Xs Drive II for second backup, to right pocket.
But if I'm in a hurry, or have plenty of cards to use, I make the backups at night back at the hotel.

    Depends,

If photographing wildlife then zipped pockets like Paul.

If I'm landscaping so plenty of time then I use the free SanDisk pockets hooked onto the rucksack. Empty cards show the back which are numbered, full show the SanDisk front.

    Re: Memory case

I would prefer to get one that can also hold my card reader but haven't been able to.
Those Sandisk pockets seem a bit bulky so far I like the Think tank best so far.

    Re: Memory case

For SD cards I use the dohicky below.

Holds 4 cards in spring-detent marked slots. About the thinnest thing I could find. I think I bought it at Radio Shack for under $8 last summer.

Is Radio Shack still around? At least you don't have to give them your name and address to buy anything anymore

    Re: Memory case

    Hey Loupey
I really like that one. I looked online and Radio Shack is selling them for $2 and they have them in stock at my local RS
I think I'll pick up a couple and try them out.

    Re: Memory case

For those of you using CF cards, I recommend these Sandisk hard cases.

The funny part is that I just realized they can also hold SD cards at the same time (duh!). And I've been carrying both card type cases

But I forgot where I bought them

    Re: Memory case

I've been using the Optimus case for about a week and I really like it.
The one problem that I had was that once when I pushed down to hard it came off the pegs.
I put it back together and haven't had a problem since.

    Re: Memory case

I did manage to make a card fly out of one of those sockets on the LZ5, and disappear into the grass (I found it), because my fingernail slipped off the card while pressing it in. The spring loading can throw a card a few inches in the air !
