    Looking for new camera recommendations

    Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new digital camera for my fiance. The catch is that it must have some sort of feature that allows black and white photographs to be taken highlighting one specific color only.

I've googled this many times but i really don't know where to start. If you know of any cameras that have this ability it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

That is usually done after the photo is taken, by editing it in your computer.
But the Canon G9 (and some other powershots, not all) have selective colour mode.

I clearly selected a Grreen peg, and it left the yellow post-it note coloured.
So I would not rely on it, the best way to do it is still to shoot in full colour and then edit it in the computer.

But that selective colour mode on the scene (SCN) setting on the dial may be good enough for her.

You might want to let her keep the camera she has and buy her some good software instead, just a thought? If she has a Canon already go for the G9, else if she has Nikon get a comparable Nikon model for the G9. Good Luck.
    Shootme...

Please don't edit and re-post or use my images (not that you'd want to anyway...). without my written permission. Thank you

The Nikon equivalent to the Canon G9 is the Coopix P5100. You can read Laurence Chen's pro review here:

The newer version is the Nikon Coolpix P6000.

I think I'm with shootme on this. Unless she's not at all software-inclined, getting her some software and maybe a book on post-processing would be a better way to go.

I think you're much better off doing this with software. It gives you much more control, options, and if you don't like it, you can just hit the undo button. And there are plenty of tutorials online which easily explain how you can do this in a few easy steps.

Do it with software. You'll get a better result.
