looking for a new camera

hey guys i am looking for a new camera. i need at least 4.0 mp. size isnt important just for general stuff, nothing special. need something that will work good in low light. i will be using a tri-pod so that should help a bit. i want to try at keep it under $800 max. Point and shoot or SLR dosnt really matter to me. i just need a good camera. so far ive found two that fit what iam looking for

Minolta DiMAGE 4.0-Megapixel Digital Camera

and

Canon PowerShot 5.0-Megapixel Digital Camera

any one have any advice or any other cameras that would fit my needs?

Have you checked out dpreview.com? They have some really thorough testing of a rather wide array of digital cameras past and present.

thats the one that always bothers me.. i am never sure quite what folks mean by it..???

out of curiosity what do u mean by it.. for example what sort of pictures do u wish to take in this "low light".. ???

never mind, i didnt realize the power of my own camera. i got it open box at best buy and it didnt come with an instruction manual. after some investigation its a pretty damn good camera. it sa Kodak DC4300 and i got it for 50 bucks.
