Looking for a fast ultra compact digi cam

Hi, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me and give some advice!!!! I'm looking to buy an ultra compact camera but I previously bought a Fujifilm Fine Pix camera and I cant stand how long the camera takes to actually take the picture, so I'm not really able to catch any candid moments. I'm looking for a 5 or higher megapixel camera with a $300 limit. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would really appreciate it since I don't want to get stuck with another dud camera:blush2: Thank you so much!!!
