    Welcome to the site, Glenn!

It's easy to fall into the trap where you don't buy something because it's bound to be replaced soon. The problem with that, is you'll be waiting forever. I have no doubt that Kodak will replace that camera soon. There's a camera tradeshow next month and it's likely that they'll have something better. In fact, they already do. Check out our pro review for the Kodak EasyShare P712.

So how did you decide on that camera? I'd like to help steer you to something that's as good as possible, fits your budget, and that will be good enough that you won't worry about what's coming next. I really think that cameras are good enough now that we've passed the era where you upgrading every year or two can be justified.

Thanx Photo-John. I picked the z612 fto upgrade my Z2 because of 1. ImageStability 2. Zoom Length. 3. 6 MP 4. Large view window 5. Uses SD media 6. Is threaded for Wide Angle lens. 7. Fingertip exposure control. Only things the 612 seems to be missing for me is: fingertip white balance control, panorama setting, built in wide angle (vs) having to attach second lens, use of standard AA. Looking forward to your recommendations. glennj
