My dad recently purchased a Kodak EasyShare V803 for the family for about $200. I've been reading reviews for it on cnet.com and its average rating is a 5.8. I think he was swayed by the fact that is was an 8-megapixel. This concerns me because I think he could have gotten a better camera for about the same price, maybe even a little cheaper.
I was also checking up reviews for the best cameras in the price range of $100-$200, and the Nikon Coolpix 7900 and Canon PowerShot A540 each have a much higher rating than the Kodak Easyshare V803. Does anyone have one, or have some advice about whether I should tell him to keep or exchange the Kodak EasyShare V803 for something better? I'm trying to do my homework on digital cameras, but I'm really lost when it comes to finding the best bang for your buck.
Thanks!
