I can't get my pictures out!!

It looks like there might be something wrong with my memory card, because I can't get my pictures off of it. When I put it in the camera, it says CARD ERROR. How can I get these pictures back? I have tried 3 cameras, and the error shows up on all 3 cameras.

    Thanks

Do you have a card reader? Using a card reader you can try to copy them to the computer and see if you have better luck opening them that way. Otherwise, you'll need some image recovery software like ImageRescue, by Lexar. I've used that particular software when photos were deleted from a memory card and all photos were successfully recovered. You can download it directly from the Lexar Web site and if you buy a Lexar pro memory card the software is included.

Yikes that reminds me of a situation I have with a 4GB Sandisk Ultra II. It started giving me random corrupt files at first. Then it gave me a card error when I put in my camera and it wouldn't format. Now every device I put it in will not even recognize the card is there so no way to recover files or even format! Argh!

Well, I was able to find the pictures on the card and recover them. But only the thumbnails work. When I try and open they picture, it either doesn't work or the picture is all jumbled and pixelated. Besides that, it looks like the program already pulled the files off the card, so I can't try it again. Any suggestions? I am SOOOO CLOSE!!!:cryin:

Also, do you think the filed themselves might be corrupted or could it be a problem with the connection or something physically wrong with the card?

I don't know what program you're using. I like to do everything manually so that I make my own mistakes. In any case it sounds like you really need some image recovery software. It will cost you about $40. If the photos are important to you, it's a small price to pay. Even if the images appear to be gone from your memory card, if you haven't formatted it, they're actually still there, if you have software to access the files. The Lexar software worked great for me and I've heard good things about other image and file recovery software.

OK. I downloaded another program cause it was cheaper. It is called PhotoRescue Professional. Maybe I will give the one you used a shot. I will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks!
