Well. I'm totally new to photography and cameras.
I've been looking at the new erikson 800i and nokia n93 camera phones and I'm not sure I'm convinced.
I want to be able to take casual but high resolution / low noise images of my surroundings, close up and far away. I'm going to work/holiday in Argentina and will be taking pictures of the sites there. And close-ups of cats, and stuff.
Now, I do also need a phone. But I'd rather have a good camera and crap phone than an ok camera and good phone. So .. what do you recommend?
The N93 is $700. That's too much for me really. The Erikson is like $500 I think. I'll link to their stats in a mo.
I have browsed various websites and cameras but it really seems to be a vast world. All I want is a definite recommendation for a total photography beginner who wants a semi-decent camera for unintelligent use. Is a cameraphone that good?

There are examples of pictures in that last link. So, comments?
Many thanks,
