Unhappy Help please with a Canon IXUS860is!!!

    Hi,
I recently bought an IXUS860is. Unintentionally, I have recorded some video footage using a 'time lapse' feature. This feature seems to record at 'fast forward' speed; maybe to save on card space (???). However, I now cannot seem to find out how to view the footage at normal speed!
I have approached the shop where I purchased the camera from about the problem and also asked other shops and been on the Canon website, but all to no avail!
Does anybody out there have any ideas, please?!?!

That's exactly what time lapse is meant to do.
It takes a picture every second or half second and assembles it into a video, playing back at 15 frames per second. It's how you can get a film of a flower bud opening, for example, or clouds rushing by - putting a few hours of weather or growth into a few seconds.

You can't view it at normal speed.
Because it wasn't shot at normal speed.

The time lapse feature: The play back speed is determined by the setting of time between exposures, the longer the time between frames taken the faster it plays. You can't play in real time as there is not any images or data between the frames. Some players will let you adjust the frame speed, just remember that below 18 FPS it become a series of images not a movie.
(18 FPS is the silent movie frame rate, 24 FPS is the talkies movie rate, and 50 (pal) or 60 (NTSC) frames rates for TV)

Oh well, you learn something new every day! Still surprised that even the shop couldn't help!
Thanks very much for the info though!
