Most of today's point-and-shoot cameras do exactly what you're listing here, so you should have no problems finding one and within your budget. I lean towards Canon point and shoots, but Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Fuji, Kodak, etc. all make good cameras. It's really personal preference. Good luck,

Are you talking about Canon Powershot SD790 (IXUS 90)? What are your views for it?

I'm planning to buy Canon Powershot SD790 (IXUS 90) for occasions like weddings, parties, happy snaps...i just want to know how much GB memory card i should purchase for making vdos and pix for such occasions because this camera shoots 10 MB AVI vdo within 6 seconds, 100 MB within 60 seconds and so on...?

Fasinshaw - I don't know the specific models, but they all do pretty much the same thing nowadays. I would go with nothing less than a 4 GB card, but make sure that the camera you buy can use all that memory (some may have an upper limit).

I think the SD790 iss a good choice. But remember this - the flash is designed around small groups and portraits. If you're expecting it to pick up the large cavernous landscapes of a church, you'll be rather disappointed. Also, don't fall into the trap of more MP is better. It isn't. In fact, the more MP you have, the greater likelihood of noise being invited to the party in low light situations.
