Help Me Find The Perfect Camera!

Hi My digital camera broke. So I am looking for a new one. The last one wasnt that great, and costs more than it was worth. So I am hoping to spend my money more wisely & find a good one! Please help me!!

I mainly take shots of my pets. Cats, Dogs & Small Pocket Pets! I even have itty bitty little mice. But never can get a good shot of them. If too far away, you cant see the mouse well. If too close, its a white blur. I want to be able to take shots of them reasonably close up & turn out crystal clear where you can see every detail of the texture in it's fur coat.

Id prefer a compact point & shoot but not necessary.
I hate changing batteries so Id prefer a rechargable ion
Since little critters move quickly, a fast shutter is a must!
I want at least 5X optical zoom, the more the better

So anyone have any ideas of which model would be great for me? Thank you so very much!!

Re: Help Me Find The Perfect Camera!

Sounds like you should stick with a good point-and-shoot camera. Canon has numerous ones to select from, but look for one with optical stabilization (they may call it something else) that helps get clearer shots in low light, since you like taking pix of animals that are presumably indoors.

There's a lot of factors that go into getting clear photos with great detail, and it isn't always the camera. Keep visiting the forums to learn up on photography and you should see some great improvements.
