Help me choose

Hello.
i come across this forum while searching for camera reviews. I cant
decide between these 3 cameras. Can someone help me please?
I basically know nothing about camera.

1. Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS Camera
8MP
£119.99

2. Sony Cyber-shot W170
10.1MP
£129.70

3. Sony Cyber-shot W200
12.1MP
£149.99

I know the canon has only 8MP but the whole quality of one camera
matters more to me than the pixels. Which one is worthier the money? I found out on the net that theres quite a lot of people who use sony's camera and encounter some problems with it after some time. I think it depends on which camera. anyway, i prefer a camera with better durability.

I know different people have different preference. but reading all the
reviews everywhere, i'm getting more confused and cant decide myself.
i wish i can get recommendation and assurance here. Oh by the way, i'm just going to use it for taking normal pictures, during holiday etc not for any professional use.

I think any of those cameras will be fine. However, 8-megapixels is plenty of resolution for most people and most purposes. I also prefer the image quality of Canon over Sony. Sony is second place in image quality, in my opinion. The Canon IXUS 80 IS Is called the SD1100 IS in the US. here's a link to that review page: http://www.photographyreview.com/cat...6_6446crx.aspx

I believe the SD1100 IS / IXUS 80 IS uses the same 8-megapixel sensor as the SD850 IS. The SD850 IS was my favorite compact camera in 2007 and I have a complete hands-on review of it in our Pro Reviews section:

I will check the reviews you linked. actually i'm more into the canon one too. but the two sonys do get good reviews as well. and its kinda weird for me as i found most people around me in my country use a sony and some use olympus. i hardly found anyone using a canon. so it gets me more hesistated to buy a canon. never mind, i guess i wont be bothered by that anymore and will consider your opinion to stick with the canon. THANKS.
