The New Olympus Stylus 500

im thinking of getting the new stylus 500 coming out in January!
Any thoughts on this camera?

Also, how is the pentax optio s5i??

The Olympus Stylus digitals have been pretty good. The weatherproof feature is nice, although it might not be as necessary as you'd think. The one problem with those cameras has been shutter-lag. However, the Stylus 500 has the new Olympus TruePic Turbo processor. That should nearly eliminate noticeable shutter-lag.

I don't have any experience with the Pentax compact digitals. Have you checked the reviews on this site? If there aren't any reviews for the Optio S5i, check the reviews on other Pentax cameras. Those will give you an idea of the general Pentax digital camera quality. And I think I know of someone who has the S5i. I'll see if I can get him to post a review and maybe post a reply to your question.
